All of our groups feature experienced professional musicians. More than musicians, they are true entertainers.
The Gumbo Trio
New Orleans Favorite Jazz Trio! This popular group plays traditional New Orleans Jazz seven nights a week at the legendary Arnaud's Jazz Bistro on Bourbon & Bienville Streets, in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The group also plays for Arnaud's Sunday Jazz Brunch.
A small New Orleans Jazz ensemble, often called a "jazz trio", The Gumbo Trio is a group of top-tier professional musicians that also performs frequently for cocktail receptions, corporate banquets, weddings, rehearsal dinners, and many other types of events, where quality entertainment is needed to create an atmosphere, set a mood, but not to overpower your guests.
A talented pool of very experienced New Orleans jazz musicians make up the roster, making it possible for the group to perform 7 nights a week at Arnaud's, so we are also able to provide another version of the trio for your function on any given night.
The JAYWALKERS SECOND LINE BAND
The Jaywalkers are the quintessential second line parade band, having played for many hundreds of Weddings, Convention Opening Receptions, Corporate Events, "meet and greet" functions, birthday parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and jazz funerals. We also perform "play in place" events.

The Jerry Embree Swing Band
The multi-talented Jerry Embree and his Band are known for their incredible variety of repertoire, including: Swing, Oldies, Party Music, Latin, R&B Love Songs, and New Orleans Jazz.
Is there a more passionate instrument than the saxophone? Jerry will play it for you with all his heart and soul!
Embree's forte' is "reading the audience", and delivering selections from his vast repertoire that fit the mood of the moment. Perhaps the cocktail hour of your event will call for a breezy bossa nova, or an impassioned selection from the Great American Songbook (think Frank Sinatra, Stan Getz, Dean Martin.) As the energy of the evening intensifies, Embree's song selections promise to make the dance floor irresistible! (Wilson Pickett, Louis Prima, Temptations)
The dancers enjoy the band because they play songs that work for these specific dances: East Coast and West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Waltz, Cha Cha, Tango, Rhumba, Fox Trot, Jamaica, Hustle, Slow Dancing and Line Dances. Or you can just get out and there and shake your booty!
THE FLAVORS OF NEW ORLEANS
GREAT MUSIC! We are the only band that plays authentic New Orleans jazz for cocktails and dinner, then heats it up with some good time Zydeco, Cajun and Mardi Gras music; then we play classic party music that everyone in the crowd will be dancing to and singing along with. The Flavors are the most versatile band in the city!
FLEXIBILITY! The band is available with 5 to 8 musicians to meet your entertainment needs and budget. Our smaller band will keep you dancing, but go ahead and spice it up by adding our female vocalist and extra horns. (Dance Instructors are also available for corporate events).
EXPERIENCE! Jerry Embree, the dynamic singer, sax player and band leader, has been a professional musician for 25 years. The Flavors of New Orleans have played hundreds of weddings, parties, and festivals, including tours in Europe and South America.
GREAT SOUND! We use a professional BOSE system for crystal clear sound. We always maintain the appropriate volume, whether for dinner or dancing.
DJ INCLUDED IN EVERY BAND GIG! o you love funky New Orleans music and classic party songs, but you also want some hip-hop, current Top 40, or certain music that is special to your family. We provide a DJ during our breaks to play the material you want to hear and keep the party going.
